Frequently Asked Question - Sending Campus E-mail Announcments
There are three methods of sending an e-mail announcement to the campus: via Rockefeller Classifieds, by using a prebuilt university mailing list, or by using the university list builder. The nature of the announcement will determine which method is used. Select from the methods below:
Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) and Information Technology (IT) have launched Rockefeller Classifieds, a web-based application similar to Craigslist, exclusively for the Rockefeller community. With Classifieds, users can post entries and upload images for unofficial queries for scientific items, housing availability, items or tickets for sale, and send unofficial announcements. Classifieds is viewable only with a Rockefeller IP address and is accessible solely via Inside Rockefeller, the new university intranet. Log-in is only required to post an entry.
University Mailing Lists
To make official, university-related announcements to the entire campus or to select groups(e.g. faculty, students, members of a particular lab) use the university list builder or a pre-built mailing list option available from the Group Mail menu. (To send announcements of a personal or unofficial nature, use the Rockefeller Classifieds.
